Takoyaki
It has been almost a year since I last used this Takoyaki Hotplate, which was a present from my brother after one of his trips to Tokyo. After receiving this new toy, I had agreed to help Joanne to buy one should my brother visit Tokyo again. That was almost a year back.
My brother did not forget! Just two weeks ago, he lugged back another Takoyaki Hotplate for Joanne. It was also a reminder that I have left my own hotplate sitting forlornly in the cupboard, out of sight, out of mind. Having used it only twice previously, I thought it was high time I made some Takoyakis (is there a plural form for takoyaki???)again.
The Takoyaki batter cooking in the hotplate.
After turning them over
Served with Japanese mayonnaise, Otafuko sauce and Bonito flakes. Oishi.
Please thank your brother on my behalf.. im really grateful for his remebrance hehe... i gonna make some on sunday i think..
ReplyDeleteYo Jo,
ReplyDeleteYou are most welcomed. So you finally found the adapter ah.
Rusti, what's the volatge of the takoyaki hotplate ? I am in USA and as wondering if it will work here. If it's 110/220V, then it will work. I've tried looking for it but in vain. Maybe if your brother goes to Japan again, he can get one for me too ( my bro lives in SG). Let me know !
ReplyDeleteThanks much !
Hi Ginny,
ReplyDeleteHow much did u pay for the takoyaki hotplate? I hv a friend going to Japan, tot of asking her to get one for me.
thanks
Hi Sinmal & Anonymous, The hotplate operates on 110v. So you will need a voltage converter if using in Singapore. The price should be no more than S$20 although I purchased my for S$15. HTH

Hi Rusti,
ReplyDeleteA jap fren is bringing in a takoyaki hotplate back for me. But I just realised that it's 110V 800W.
May I know where did you buy your voltage converter from? I saw some at homefix but the 800 - 1000W ones are very huge.
Hi Erin-Bakes
ReplyDeleteYup the converter is huge. My brother got me the converter from overseas during his working trip. I think you can try those shops that sells travel stuff.
Ginny
Hi,
ReplyDeleteIs yours a transformer or a voltage converter?
My Japanese friend bot me this machine but I can't use it becoz of the voltage difference.
A transformer costs > $100 whereas a converter is below $40.
Pls help.
